Amazon MGM Studios rolls out the red carpet for its explosive action-comedy ‘The Pickup,’ ahead of its Prime Video debut on August 6.

Amazon MGM Studios lit up downtown Los Angeles on June 27 with the star-studded world premiere of The Pickup, the highly anticipated action-comedy headlined by Eddie Murphy, Pete Davidson, and Keke Palmer. Held at Regal LA Live, the premiere drew A-list stars, comedians, and press to celebrate the film’s theatrical debut, which was followed by an afterparty at the historic Hotel Figueroa.

Joining Murphy, Davidson, and Palmer on the red carpet were director and producer Tim Story, screenwriters Matt Mider and Kevin Burrows, and producers Charisse Hewitt-Webster and John Fox. The event also welcomed celebrity guests including Vivica A. Fox, Aldis Hodge, Da’Vine Joy Randolph, Daniella Monet, Skai Jackson, Jharrel Jerome, and Sugar Ray Leonard—bringing added buzz to what promises to be one of the summer’s biggest streaming premieres.

The Pickup centers on two armored truck drivers—Russell (Murphy) and Travis (Davidson)—who find their routine job upended when they’re ambushed by a criminal mastermind named Zoe (Palmer). What follows is a chaos-fueled day of escalating stakes, high-speed chases, and sharp-tongued banter as the mismatched duo tries to survive both the heist and each other. With plans that go way beyond the truck’s cash cargo, Zoe’s crew brings serious firepower—and serious laughs.

Helmed by Ride Along director Tim Story and produced by comedy legend Eddie Murphy, The Pickup is positioned to hit big with audiences when it debuts globally on Prime Video on August 6, 2025.
