Tom Holland Won’t Walk the Red Carpet at Zendaya’s Premieres: ‘It’s Her Moment,’ Says He’ll Quit Acting When He Has Kids

Tom Holland reflects on prioritizing Zendaya’s spotlight at her premieres, balancing love and work, and his plans to step away from acting for fatherhood.

Tom Holland is opening up about his relationship with Zendaya, their collaborative dynamic on set, and his evolving outlook on his career and personal life. In a recent interview with Men’s Health, the 28-year-old actor revealed why he avoids joining Zendaya on the red carpet for her solo film premieres and shared his thoughts on stepping away from acting when he starts a family.

Holland, who has been romantically linked with Zendaya since 2021, explained his red carpet approach is all about respecting her moment in the spotlight. “When it’s her premiere, like for Challengers or Dune, I stay off the carpet because it’s her moment,” he said. “If we walk together, it becomes about us, not her.” However, the Spider-Man co-stars are no strangers to red carpets as a pair. Their joint appearances for Marvel’s blockbuster Spider-Man trilogy have delighted fans, cementing their status as one of Hollywood’s most beloved power couples.

Looking ahead to 2025, fans can expect Holland and Zendaya to reunite onscreen for two high-profile projects: a fourth Spider-Man film and Christopher Nolan’s epic The Odyssey. Both films are slated for 2026 releases, and Holland hinted at the unique joy of working alongside Zendaya, even as the duo navigate their high-profile romance.

Tom and Zendaya: Balancing Love and Career

Holland’s comments also shed light on the comfort and chemistry he shares with Zendaya on set. Reflecting on their professional dynamic, Zendaya has previously described it as “strangely comfortable” and like “second nature.” Holland echoed this sentiment during a recent podcast appearance, humorously quipping about their cost-saving appeal to studios—“One hotel room. Separate drivers. We’re not crazy now!”—before turning sincere. “It’s the best thing. When we’re on set, there’s this shorthand. Even if we don’t agree with a director’s note, just a glance between us says everything. It’s amazing.”

Despite their ease in working together, Holland emphasized that their relationship thrives on mutual respect and individual success. By stepping back from Zendaya’s red carpet moments, Holland aims to support her achievements without overshadowing them.

Looking to the Future: Holland’s Career Plans

While fans anticipate Holland’s upcoming slate of projects, the actor offered a glimpse into a potential shift in priorities down the line. In the Men’s Health interview, Holland candidly expressed his desire for a quieter life when he becomes a father: “When I have kids, you will not see me in movies anymore. Golf and dad. And I will just disappear off the face of the earth.”

Holland’s reflections underscore his grounded approach to fame, an ethos he’s carried throughout his career. Whether navigating global stardom with Zendaya or envisioning a future away from Hollywood, Holland’s commitment to maintaining balance and authenticity remains evident.

Both Holland and Zendaya will star alongside Matt Damon, Anne Hathaway, and Charlize Theron in Nolan’s The Odyssey, set to release on July 17, 2026. Meanwhile, Spider-Man 4 is scheduled for a July 24, 2026 debut.
