Despite Season 4’s bittersweet finale, FX has confirmed that The Bear is far from over. The Emmy-winning series is officially coming back for a fifth season, continuing its reign as one of television’s most intense and heartfelt dramas.

FX has announced that The Bear is returning for a fifth season, following the June 25 premiere of its critically acclaimed fourth installment. While the final episode of Season 4 was aptly titled “Goodbye,” it turns out that goodbye isn’t forever.

“The Bear continues to be a fan favorite worldwide,” said FX chairman John Landgraf in a statement. “Their response to this season — as seen through incredibly high viewership — has been as spectacular as any of its previous seasons. Year-in and year-out, [creator] Chris Storer, the producers, cast and crew make The Bear one of the best shows on television, and we are excited that they will continue to tell this magnificent story.”

Although FX and Hulu have not released viewing figures for Season 4, past data points to The Bear’s impressive hold on the streaming landscape. Season 3 spent six weeks on Nielsen’s top 10 streaming chart, accumulating roughly 4.5 billion viewing minutes — a major achievement for a binge-drop series.

Season 4 followed Carmy (Jeremy Allen White), Sydney (Ayo Edebiri), and Richie (Ebon Moss-Bachrach) as they pushed The Bear restaurant toward culinary greatness, all while facing the looming threat of financial collapse. With mounting pressure, evolving partnerships, and emotional breakdowns, the new season raised the bar in both tension and tenderness.

Returning cast members also include Abby Elliott, Lionel Boyce, Liza Colón-Zayas, and Matty Matheson, with Oliver Platt and Molly Gordon reprising recurring roles. Season 4 was filmed back-to-back with Season 3, giving the show a cohesive flow that has captivated fans and critics alike.

Behind the scenes, the creative team remains strong. Series creator Christopher Storer executive produces alongside Josh Senior, Joanna Calo, Cooper Wehde, Tyson Bidner, Matty Matheson, Hiro Murai, and Rene Gube. Courtney Storer serves as co-EP and culinary producer, with FX Productions continuing as the studio behind the series.

Season 5 is expected to debut sometime in 2026 on Hulu — and if the show’s current trajectory holds, fans can expect another high-stakes, emotionally rich dive into the pressure cooker that is The Bear.
